Danbury is a town in Merrimack County, New Hampshire, USA. The population was 963 at the 2000 census.

History: Incorporated in 1795 from a portion of Alexandria, New Hampshire, Danbury later grew by adding land from Wilmot and Hill. The name Danbury was suggested by a settler from Danbury, CT.

Geography: According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 97.7 km² (37.7 mi²). 97.0 km² (37.5 mi²) of it is land and 0.7 km² (0.3 mi²) of it is water, comprising 0.74% of the town. The highest point in Danbury is Tinkham Hill (2,320 feet / 707 meters above sea level), in the northern part of town. Ragged Mountain (elevation of Danbury summit 2,225 ft. / 678 m.) is a prominent mountain with multiple summits which occupies the southern portion of town and has a ski area of the same name.
